"One Got Out": Easter Bonus Page

Bonus Bible Verse: We are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. He will take these weak mortal bodies of ours and change them into glorious bodies like his own (Philippians 3:20).
One sleepy Sunday afternoon when my son was five years old, we drove past a cemetery together. Noticing a large pile of dirt beside a newly excavated grave, he pointed and said: "Look, Dad, one got out!" I laughed, but now, every time I pass a graveyard, I'm reminded of the One who got out.
Jesus Christ is risen!
I don't have the answers for a friend of mine diagnosed with brain cancer. Or the mother in our church who is now a widow. But those three words keep coming back to me: "One got out!"
Jesus Christ broke the chains of death and rose from the dead, promising eternity with Him. It is the central point of human history, and the central focus of all who embrace the Savior who spread His arms wide on a Roman cross one awful day 2000 years ago. There was nothing good about that Friday. It left 11 men in agony. And many more wondering. Until that glorious Sunday when One got out!
Have you lost hope lately? Remember this: One day soon, those arms will spread wide again, welcoming us home. Let that thought fill your heart today. Let it invade the way you think, the way you talk, the way you live.
