Key Bible Verse: Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy (1 Peter 5:8). Bonus Reading:1 Corinthians 10:1213
Satan takes his rod and reel, stands in his boat, checks his spiritual depth finder, and determines the best place on the lake for the fish he wants to catch. He's acutely aware of the place to find those fish, and the time of day they're most likely to bite.
How many times have you seen an angler standing out mid-river with his rod and reel instead of at the water's edge? How many times have you seen a bass fishing boat turn suddenly into one particular inlet on the lake? Serious fishermen are always in search of just the right place to cast. Satan follows the same approach. He goes to the places where people usually go when they're most tired, most bored, and most off guard.
The skilled angler also knows the best times to go fishing. Satan is an expert at reading your particular "seasons." He knows when your energy or morale is low, you feel a little depressed, or your spiritual disciplines have been lacking. These are the times he goes fishing for you.
The Ol' Angler also looks at the spiritual depth finder of your life. He sees where you're vulnerable, which is often where you feel invincible. He knows how "deep" your commitment is.
