Waiting for a Green Light This Week's Theme: Tuning in to God

Key Bible Verse: It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord (Lamentations 3:26). Bonus Reading:1 Samuel 13:1-14
The Lord seemed to be opening doors for one young couple, using their lives in a clear and visible way. Then they got impatient. It wasn't happening fast enough for them. They wanted to move on. Their pastor saw serious problems with their proposed move and advised them, "Don't go." One night we were at their home for dinner. As they asked for counsel, we told them, "Don't go." Others in the church agreed.
But no. "God was leading." They packed up and moved.
Somehow we become convinced that our God has lost control of the circumstances in our lives. "I'm going to have to intervene in this myself," we say. "If the Lord can't handle it, I surely can. I've been to college. I've had experience. Let me at it."
It wasn't long before things began to fall apart for this couple. The man lost his job. The woman became confused and unhappy. They began to fight and lost all chance of ministry. Why? They were simply too impatient to wait for the Lord's time. All the circumstances said, "Hang in there. Wait for the Lord's best time." But they had to jump right in.

Respond:
Is a divine "green light" factored into my decision-making process?
Thought to Apply:
Quiet waiting before God would save from many a mistake and many a sorrow.
