Q. Why can't I find an article online from the new issue?
A. We post articles from current issues over time. When the next issue becomes available, most if not all articles from the previous issue will have been posted online. Occasionally articles, especially reprints, remain available only in print. You may want to visit a newsstand to purchase the print issue or wait to see if it becomes available online in the next few weeks.
Q. How can I submit an article to your magazine?
A. Our magazines don't accept unsolicited articles. However, you can write to some of the magazines with a proposal. As an example, read the Writer's Guidelines for Today's Christian Woman magazine:

Q. How do I obtain permission to post one of your articles on my website?
A. We do not grant permission for our articles to appear on other websites. However, we would be happy for you to put a title, deck, short excerpt, and link on your site to the articles you would like your readers to be able to see.
Q. How do I obtain a back issue of a magazine?

Q. Why are some articles free and others require payment or membership?
A. As with every endeavor, there are costs involved in the writing, production, and delivery of our magazines. Now that we make them available online, there are additional hardware, software, delivery, and personnel costs. As a non-for-profit organization, we monitor our costs very carefully, providing what we can for free and charging for other things to support the ongoing ministry.

Q. How can I subscribe to an RSS feed?
A. RSS readers use different ways to subscribe you to a feed, but the general concept is the same. You will need to tell your reader where to find the feed. With some RSS readers, you can subscribe to a feed by clicking on the corresponding XML button ( ). Otherwise, you will need to copy the feed's URL into your RSS reader.

Q. Why are you planting cookies on my computer?
A. We use cookies because they save you time: you don't have to log in every time you visit areas of our site to which you have subscribed, such as CTLibrary.com and PreachingToday.com.
Cookies are simply small text files that your Web browser stores on your hard drive. These text files contain your user identification so when you visit the site again you shouldn't have to log in again. In other words, the cookie allows our server to "recognize" you when you return.

NEWSLETTERS
Q. Could I have received a virus from ChristianityToday.com?
A. We're happy to report that our process for sending newsletters does not allow for viruses (or *any* kind of attachment!) to spread to our newsletter subscribers. But thank you for alerting us to the danger.
Q. I subscribed to your newsletter, so why am I not receiving it?
A. Spam filters, computer programs, or utilities designed to eliminate "junk" e-mail occasionally block e-mails you're signed up to receive from us.
If you're using a spam filter, especially the one included with AOL 9.0, you may not be receiving our e-mails.
To ensure that our newsletters aren't being blocked, make sure your spam filter is configured to accept messages from @lists.christianitytoday.com.
If you don't know how to do this, review the help screens for the filter or contact the company's technical support.
Q. Why was I unsubscribed from your newsletter?/I didn't unsubscribe.
A. If you were unsubscribed from the newsletter without your knowledge, please read the following:

If you get a notice you've been unsubscribed and you did not ask us to stop sending this newsletter, you may be the victim of someone else's virus-infected computer.
A handful of viruses currently in circulation are able to send e-mail from fake (or random) addresses to almost any address found on a computer. We have discovered that some of our members have been involuntarily unsubscribed when someone else's computer sent us an unsubscribe request in our member's name. (The e-mail FROM address was forged.)

Q. How do I change my e-mail address for your newsletters?

Insert your OLD e-mail address in the login field to view a list of all the newsletters you are currently signed up to receive.
Enter your new e-mail address in the field near the top, and click the "change"button. Follow the on-screen prompts to update your newsletter preferences.
Q. Why can't I read your newsletter format?
A. We're sorry you're experiencing difficulty with the format of our newsletters. We've tested our format as thoroughly as possible and are unable to do anything more to assist the small percentage of subscribers whose e-mail providers don't support HTML.
Each newsletter includes a link in the upper right corner to click to read the newsletter online. If your e-mail provider enables hyperlinks, we hope this will be helpful to you. However, if this is not the case and you prefer to unsubscribe, you may do so at: http://ChristianityToday.com/go/nltool. Simply enter your e-mail address in the field provided and click "login"to see a list of your subscriptions. Click "unsubscribe"and then "Update"for each newsletter from which you wish to unsubscribe.
Q. Why can't I find links in your newsletters to finish reading the articles?
A. If you are unable to view or click on a link in your newsletter, that means that you are not viewing the newsletter in HTML format.
Because our newsletters are produced in HTML, subscribers must have an HTML compatible e-mail program with their preferences set to read e-mail in HTML (not plain-text).
Please refer to your HELP files within your e-mail program for further directions on changing your preferences to read e-mail in HTML format. Please note, some e-mail programs do not support HTML mail.
Q. Why am I receiving rejection notices and my newsletters are on hold?
A. The e-mail you've received is automatically generated when several attempts to deliver a newsletter have failed. This is usually due to a member canceling his/her e-mail address and moving to a different ISP or having a full inbox. It can also occur if your ISP rejects our messages due to a misconception that you didn't opt-in to receive them.
To unsubscribe, change your e-mail address, or subscribe to a different newsletter, please visit:

Some major ISP's (Hotmail, Comcast, Yahoo and others) occasionally place our newsletter in a "junk" or "spam" folder. Please review your e-mail settings to make @lists.christianitytoday.com an allowed e-mail address.
Q. Can I purchase your subscriber list?
A. In order to protect the privacy of our members, we do not rent, sell, or exchange our subscribers' e-mail addresses with other parties.

E-Mail Spoofing
E-mail spoofing is the forgery of an e-mail header so the message appears to have originated from somewhere other than the actual source. This way the e-mail cannot be traced back to the originator. There is really no way to prevent receiving a spoofed e-mail. Learn more.
